GAČR postdoc positions

We invite motivated young researchers to apply for GAČR grant Postdoc Individual Fellowships - Incoming 2022 to join our group to work on topics including, but not limited to:

  • (Semi-)Device independent protocols and Bell inequalities,
  • Cryptography - mainly security of cryptographic protocols and primitives in connection with randomness,
  • Quantum information theory - channel capacity, Rényi entropies and non-i.i.d. in general, SDP optimization,
  • Randomness - extraction, applications, unitary k-designs.

The rules of the project allow for a gross salary of up to 60,000 CZK per month which sums up to over 27,000 EUR per year. Additional funding is available for additional group members. The duration of the project is 3 years. This position requires writing a research project of approximately 10 A4 pages. The fellowship can be awarded to a candidate who has received a Ph.D. degree after 30. September 2017.

Faculty postdoc position

We invite applications for a faculty Postdoc position in computer science in Quantum information, to join our group to work on topics including, but not limited to:

  • (Semi-)Device independent protocols and Bell inequalities,
  • Cryptography - mainly security of cryptographic protocols and primitives in connection with randomness,
  • Quantum information theory - channel capacity, Rényi entropies and non-i.i.d. in general, SDP optimization,
  • Randomness - extraction, applications, unitary k-designs.

The postdoctoral positions are awarded for one year with an extension to the second year after a review. Gross salary is 50,000 CZK per month which, with an optional 10% bonus, sums to more than 25,000 EUR per year. Additional funds of 4,000 EUR per year will be available for travel and material expenses.

The successful candidate must:

  • have a Ph.D. degree not older than 4 years at the time of application, from a university outside of the Czech and Slovak Republics. Candidates with a Ph.D. degree from a Czech or Slovak university may also be considered if they prove at least two years of post-doctoral research experience abroad,
  • be fluent in English, while prior knowledge of Czech is not required,
  • have a strong international research record.
